Earlier this year we wrote a blog about voice apps being the future for deskless work and it seems that using ones voice to direct actions on your devices is becoming much more commonplace.
Backlinko shares a bunch of voice search stats on its website: 30% of internet users aged 16-64 worldwide use voice assistants each week. On average more men than women use voice assistants at least once per week. Asking questions without typing is one of the top 3 reasons consumers purchased a smart speaker… the list of stats goes on.
So it won’t be a surprise that Salesforce users are looking for ways to record voice to text via the Salesforce mobile app, rather than type updates.
How Salesforce approached voice-to-text
In 2020, Salesforce released the Einstein Voice Assistant, which looked promising as a hands-free solution for capturing notes and updates. However, this feature was retired in 2021, leaving many users wondering if they could still use voice-to-text in Salesforce. Since then, Einstein Conversation Insights was introduced, focusing on call transcripts and insights from virtual meetings and calls, but this feature doesn’t allow for recording standalone voice notes outside of a call.
Voice-to-text with Vinton
This is where Vinton comes in. When we initially launched Vinton, its primary feature was focused on voice-to-text functionality for quick, on-the-go updates. Built as a native Salesforce app, Vinton allows users to record voice notes directly in the Salesforce mobile app or desktop, with automated transcription saving the text to the relevant records.
As a sales lead, I found this feature invaluable. After a client call or meeting, I could quickly record an audio note, and Vinton would handle the transcription. No more trying to remember key details later or scrambling to type notes on the fly.
Of course since then Vinton has expanded to include more fantastic features, but the voice-to-text function is still a core part of the solution.
Why voice-to-text helps CRM users
Here are some of the biggest benefits of using voice-to-text for CRM updates:
Increased efficiency: For sales and service teams, recording a voice note takes just seconds, saving valuable time that would otherwise be spent typing notes. This means faster CRM updates and more time to focus on core tasks.
Real-time updates: With Vinton, you can record notes immediately after a conversation while details are still fresh. This is especially useful for on-the-go professionals who may not have a convenient moment to type during a busy day.
Improved data accuracy: When we rely on memory to add details later, there’s always a risk of missing key points. Voice-to-text captures information in the moment, reducing the chances of forgetting or misinterpreting details.
For Salesforce users seeking a faster way to record and organize notes, voice-to-text is an invaluable tool. With Vinton, CRM updates can be done in seconds, freeing up time for sales and service reps to focus on building stronger relationships and making more sales. Whether you’re capturing ideas, conversation summaries or reminders, Vinton ensures your voice notes are transcribed and saved right where you need them.
So yes, you can record a voice-to-text note in the Salesforce mobile app with Vinton.
