Artificial Intelligence is revolutionising the way businesses operate, and Salesforce is at the forefront of this transformation.

In a recent podcast episode, we had the pleasure of speaking with Sam Chappell, CTO at Performa IT, about the first implementation of Agentforce in Europe and what it takes for businesses to be Agentforce-ready. This post extracts the key insights from our conversation, providing a roadmap for organizations looking to harness AI’s power.

The Need for AI Readiness

The introduction of AI into Salesforce isn’t just about automation. It’s about enhancing customer experiences, streamlining processes, and making data-driven decisions. But are companies truly ready for AI? According to Sam, the answer lies in leadership mindset, data quality, and a willingness to experiment.

1. A Culture of Innovation

One of the main reasons Secret Escapes, a luxury travel brand, was chosen for the Agentforce pilot was their culture of innovation.
Leadership was open to testing new technologies, understanding that the first iteration wouldn’t be perfect. Employees were engaged early in the process, ensuring buy-in from the start.

2. Data Readiness is Crucial

AI models are only as good as the data they are trained on. For Agentforce to succeed, Secret Escapes had to ensure their data was clean and well-structured. They had over 200+ knowledge articles already in their system, meeting Salesforce’s recommendations. Integrating data from other platforms, like internal booking systems, was a key part of ensuring AI could deliver accurate and useful insights.

3. Start Small, Then Scale

Instead of attempting a full AI transformation overnight, Secret Escapes focused on solving small, high-impact problems first. The Agentforce project focused on addressing common FAQs, using the knowledge articles already captured. This approach allowed them to refine and optimise the AI experience before scaling it further.

4. Testing and Iteration

A surprising challenge in the AI implementation process was the extensive testing required, so much so that Salesforce has now established an AI/Agentforce testing centre.

The Business Impact of AI Adoption

For Performa IT, being involved in the first EMEA Agentforce deployment was a game-changer for their business.

  • More clients are now approaching them for AI-powered Salesforce implementations
  • Employees across all departments, including sales, are now well-versed in AI
  • The project created a ripple effect, inspiring new AI-driven ideas and solutions.

What’s Next for AI in Salesforce?

AI is no longer an experimental technology; it’s becoming a necessity for businesses that want to stay ahead. For businesses looking to get started with AI, Sam offers this advice:

– Ensure leadership buy-in and support
– Clean up and structure your CRM data
– Start with small, measurable AI implementations
– Prioritise testing and iteration

AI is here to stay, and companies that embrace it early will gain a competitive advantage. Whether you’re a Salesforce partner, a tech leader, or a business executive, now is the time to focus on AI readiness.
